A few weeks ago, I was talking to the Child Care Center students in chapel about Thanksgiving.  I asked them if they were going to have turkey, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving dinner.  They all yelled, "Yea!"  And then, one after another, the children began to tell me -- "and I'm going to be Batman ...  and I'm going to be Superman ...  and I'm going to be Scooby Doo!"

We had to rewind as I explained that was the last thing we did at the church -- Trunk-or-Treat -- and now we were moving on to give thanks to God!

I'm not assuming anything as we move into Advent and the Christmas Season!  From day one of Advent, I have been teaching the children to say with me -- "Jesus is the Reason for the Season!"  Quiz the children when you see them on church campus.  Ask them who is the Reason for the Season.  They should know it is Jesus!  If you get a different answer, please let me know.  Clearly I've got to pick up my teaching technique!
